OUR MISSION
At Ed Words Ink, our mission is to educate, empower and entertain those in the urban community. Our goal is to help youth become positive members of society. Through writing in various forms, including poetry, music and the arts, Ed Words Ink helps urban kids express themselves in positive ways, while giving them a safe place to do so. Reaching our youth also means making connections with parents. Ed Words Ink strives to build positive relationships with adults in the urban community as well, so that they too will be motivated to cause positive change. We believe that when given engaging, cultural experiences, one will not only embrace the skin they're in, but also build the confidence needed to make their dreams come true!

EBONY EDWARDS
Founder and Author
Ebony Edwards is a teacher and author who literally makes it her business to educate, empower and entertain those in the urban community. She founded Ed Words Ink LLC with the goal of helping youth become positive members of society. After a few years of teaching in predominately Black schools, she realized that many schools’ curriculum lacks multicultural texts and activities that could help scholars learn and also express themselves in meaningful ways. Ebony includes diverse characters in her books so that urban children have material they can relate to and characters they can aspire to be. It is her hope that her means of expression appeals to not only the Black community but also engages a multitude of audiences, drawing us closer to one another when it comes to understanding the lives of people of color. This in return will help promote positive change.
